Hurray! Word count progresses!

I’m kind of glad I decided to do chapter 9 and on through the end of November as part of NaNoWriMo. It’s working out pretty well. I normally need little to no incentive to write, it’s usually more common for me to need incentive to stop writing. But we all have bad days, and I was beginning to have a pretty bad autumn so this gave me the little bit of a boost I needed.

Any wondering why my word count is always a multiple of 5 (except when I make a typo entering my word count update) it’s because of how I write. Everything is done pen on paper first then typed later. It’s easier for me. I can type very fast, but the keyboard and word processor get in the way, also … as fast as I type is nothing compared to the speed I can think and write so, there you have it. Also means I don’t have to try to figure out where to put a laptop or tablet (which I’m an awful, horrible typist on) every time I get inspired. I just need a solid surface of approximately 8½ inches by 11 inches, infinitely easier to do.

I’m off to revitalise by brain with some video games, then it’s back to the grindstone.

National Novel Writer’s Month

I’m going into November with an open mind on how to cure my writer’s block.

Well, almost. If you suggest note cards, outlines, and other similar nonsense I’ve a supply of crosses, stakes, and holy water laid by to deal with you.

I’ve heard of NaNoWriMo, but never really thought much of it. To each her own, kind of thing, but not my bag of chips really. How quickly I completed Love or Lust, from first spark of idea to “The End” has left me feeling that I could easily enough do 50k words in a week (I actually did something like 10k in a day in February, but it was murder on my wrists, they’ve never been the same since!). So, I’m stuck, and in a fit of “well, now what?” I decided to do this.

As I already have nearly 50K words done, I’m obviously not counting any of that word count. I’ll be doing it rebel style (I’ve never cared a lot for rules, really) and my NaNoWriMo word count is being applied to Ready or Not.

I’ll probably post occasional status updates saying how things fare.

Progress continues

Now & Forever is doing very well. Editor still has to reach Love or Lust in her pipeline and to do that whole vacation thing people do from time to time, but Book II is coming along nicely. For those who care it’s called Ready or Not. I hope, if it keeps its current pace, to be done with writing it by between Halloween and Christmas.

The blog, as you see, has had its look updated. I think it looks much prettier and … interesting this way. Hopefully you agree.

Finally, I’ve decide that, yes, my next project will be a superhero novel or series that I’ve been toying with thoughts of. No details or word count yet, but when I have have the free brain cycles for it that’s near the top of my to-do list.

Well, back to the pen.
Love to all.
